10 Awesome Music Videos
Not including that awesome Michel Gondry / Spike Jonze / Chris Cunningham video collection or the Mark Romanek, Jonathan Glazer, Anton Corbijn and Stephane Sednaoui one, these are some of my favorite videos. Enjoy!
10.
This was a Cat Power video, but M.I.A's video was more hype. This video pretty much sums up the whole global village sound she's been going for. Plus who doesn't love kids getting crunk?
9.
Nothing like some tough ass Boy Scouts to put in all in perspective, huh El-P?
8.
When I first heard this song, this was pretty much the video I imagined. A collage of crazy images and sounds.
7.
It's not the highest budget, but it's a charming video full of quirk and nostalgia. Joanna Newsome in a nutshell.
6.
A bit heavy handed, but the fact that they got Todd McFarlane to do anything other than cash checks is amazing in itself.
5.
One of the first videos from my formative years that really grabbed me. And while it has aged, it hasn't aged as badly as I imagined. Teenage nihilism rules (or doesn't)!
4.
That pigeon is the best part.
3.
If you've never seen The Books, they play along to these video pieces they've made which are all pretty amazing. This one alwas stuck out though.
2.
"the Foghat rule: You're fourth album should be DOUBLE LIVE!"
1.
It's not my favorite video ever (that would be Unkle - Rabbit in your Headlights), but it's a great concept that's equally disturbing and hilarious. That image of the kid in the racing outfit holding two trophies with the word "MUD" on his hat cracks me up every time.
